Esta Chaplin
Kia Ora! My name is Esta Chaplin. I’m a passionate problem solver studying Design and Commerce, majoring in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
I’m from Te Matau-a-māui , Hawkes Bay, where I spend as much time as possible baking, in the ocean, making creations, and appreciating the tasty fruits which make this place my home. This centres my value in creative sustainability.
I’m eager to learn sustainable traditions in India, to innovate with nature’s imperfections in mind. I want to ensure that art, creativity, and sustainability remain priorities in my work and share this mindset with others.
Through this program, I hope to learn from India’s unique context, where extreme poverty exists alongside rapid growth as a leader in AI development. I am interested in exploring the disconnect between resources that could solve community challenges and their accessibility to those who need them most.
I feel extremely grateful that I can gather and grow knowledge through this opportunity to return to my community.
