Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia, Global Internship in Vietnam

Introduction

Xin Chào, Kia Ora! Welcome onboard this journey!

This ‘twenty-something’ former international flight attendant turned global politics, and human rights student has been honoured to be a recipient of a 2023 Prime Minister’s Scholarship. In January, I will jet off to Viet Nam to immerse myself in Vietnamese society and learn about Vietnamese culture and business, create local connections and represent New Zealand, all while consuming my body weight in Vietnamese coffee, Phở, and other food that excites my taste buds. Viet Nam is one of the world’s fastest–growing economies, and it’s an exciting time to watch the nation transform, a testament to the Vietnamese people.

An enduring passion for people and global affairs and a desire to learn about the world led me to my former life as an ‘air hostie’ and my current journey as a Bachelor of Global Studies student majoring in Global Politics and Human Rights specialising in Asia.

I am motivated by my desire to interact and build relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds and use my life experiences, skills, and education to make a difference and help others.

I am excited about the challenges, experiences, adventures, and new friendships that await in Ho Chi Minh!
