Lessons on Vision and Intention

As I settle back into the rhythm of life in Auckland, New Zealand, I find myself grappling with the stark differences between the bustling streets of India and the tranquility of home. The absence of crowded thoroughfares, the scent of masala chai wafting through the air, and the sheer abundance of fresh air have all served as poignant reminders of the vibrant tapestry of experiences I encountered during my six-week journey.

With the whirlwind of university life now in full swing, finding moments to reflect on my time in India has proven challenging. Yet, beneath the surface, I can feel its profound impact shaping my thoughts and actions in subtle ways.

The inevitable barrage of questions from friends and family about my trip only serves to underscore the impossibility of encapsulating the depth and breadth of my experiences into a few casual remarks. Each encounter, each conversation, each moment of connection has left an indelible mark on my soul, defying simple summation.

Amidst the kaleidoscope of memories, one overarching lesson stands out—the power of vision and intention. As a wide-eyed 17-year-old embarking on the journey of law school, my aspirations to make a difference in the world were clear but nebulous. Over the years, however, the pursuit of success and financial stability often clouded those early intentions.

Yet, my encounters with inspirational individuals in India—such as Dr. Vandana Shiva and the dedicated doctors at Jaipur Foot, not to mention the wisdom shared by Nimo at Madhav Sadhna—served as powerful reminders of the importance of leading with purpose. Their unwavering commitment to their respective causes illuminated the path forward, reigniting the flames of intention that had flickered within me.

As I bid farewell to India and embrace the familiar embrace of home, I carry with me the invaluable lessons gleaned from my time in India. Though the journey may be over, the process of reflection and growth has only just begun. With each passing day, I eagerly anticipate how these newfound insights will continue to shape my character and inform my actions.

Until then, I embark on this next chapter of life with renewed clarity and determination, guided by the timeless wisdom of intention and vision.
